Report on Padapuja celebrations at Lingannapetta

The paduka puja mahotsava of His Holiness Anantha Shri Bharati Theertha Maha swamiji was conducted with great pomp and religious fervour,at the Lingannapet village, karimnagar district , Andhra Pradesh ,administrated by Sri Bharati Theerta Veda Pathashala.













Guru Paduka Puja Mahotsava will be conducted every month on Mrugashira star , the birth star of His Holiness shri Bharathi Thirhta Mahaswamiji.This initiative was started for the first time in Andhra Pradesh on Shravana Shukla Krishna Ekadashi of Sri Virodhi Naama Samvatsara at Lingannapet chosen as the venue.















With the objective of imparting the immense knowledge of vedas and Vedic education to the interested and eligible students,vyasojula Sri Gopi krishna Sharma and Sri Radhakrishna Sharma have succeeded in obtaining the blessings of His Holiness to establish a Veda Pathashala at Lingannapet village.With the blessings of His Holiness ,the tradition of performing the Guru paduka puja on mrugashira, the birth star of His Holiness,for propagating the importance of Dakshinamnaya sri Sharada Peetham and spreading the Sanathana Dharma . This new tradition aims at leading the devotees in righteous path of Sanathana Dharma.















The pada puja was performed to the Holy padukas blessed by His Holiness himself, in the premises of the Hari Hara temple of Lingannapet, which is deemed to be the residing place of its native deities. The fabulously decked padukas were taken in a great procession in Ratha around the streets of Lingannapet village amidst Vedic chantings by scholars and the bhajans in praise of His Holiness by Devotees. The procession headed into the temple where a beautiful dais was set to perform the paduka puja which were witnesses by Vedic scholars as well as the Devotees.










The paduka puja was performed with great devotion by Smt & Sri Vyasojula RamaSharma. amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns and verses by several scholars present on the occasion.












The devotees showered the flowers of devotion on the holy padukas and obtained the immense blessings of His Holiness Sri Bharathi Thirtha Swamij by worshipping them.









This holy occasion was graced by the presence of Sri Guru Seva Dhurina Padmashri V.R.Gouri shankerji who visited Lingannapet for the first time .He has been honored by central government with the title of Padma Shri for his services rendered in the past 23 years to Sringeri Sharadha Peetham. Many prominent personalities and Devotees felicitated him.
Sri V.R.Gouri Shankarji addressed the gathering through his profound speech ,said that the Guru Padukas bless us with the inspiration to follow the path laid by Sanathana Dharma.

He appreciated the decision of Vyasojula brothers to introduce the tradition of performing pada pooja on Murgashira star of every month in Andhrapradesh..He also said that the lives of Sri Vyasojula Radhakrishna Sharma and Sri Vyasojula GopiKrishna Sharma have gained salvation by attaining immense and profound affection as well as blessings of Jagdguru at a young age.
Discussing the goals and objectives of the Sri Bharati Teertha Veda Pathashala he announced the construction of the Veda Pathashala with all necessary facilities will be accomplished before the 60th Vardhanti of His Holiness shri Bharathi Thirtha Mahaswamiji.
There after the school will run in full strength towards fulfilling it goals and objectives for which it has been set up.Shri. VR.Gowri shankerji gave an inspiraing and thought provoking speech laying stress on the importance of Sanatana Dharma and need for protection of Vedas.
Sri Rama Sharma representative of Veda Pathashala and famous industrialist chekkilla Rajendra Kumar also gave short speech.
The story of Lord Shiva taking incarnation as Adishankara to protect and perpetuate the dharma and spreading it through the country establishment of four Aamnaya Peethas in the country was beautifully illustrated by famous Harikatha singer Dhulipala shivarama Krishna shastri.
The tradition of performing sevas to the padukas in Andra Pradesh has ushured in a new trend of practising the principles of Sanatha Dharma and the vedic tradition.
